Long-Duration Survey Starship
Venture Class Technical Details

PROFILE COMPARISON
Venture Class vs Constitution Class Starships

Though a few meters shorter than the Constitution Class Cruisers, Venture features more internal volume thanks to the extra space on deck seven, and the blending of the primary and secondary hulls into a single unit. The square-sectioned "work hull" offers more useable internal space than the Constitutions' round hull, which has severely canted walls in the upper and lower decks.
The Venture Class vessels' warp dynamics are far inferior to Constitutions', top speed being a sedate warp seven, but as no combat role is ever envisioned for survey ships speed was not a consideration in the design, warp one being sufficient to outrun any natural phenomenon.
Visible in Venture's profile view are the large square windows on decks six and seven. These are featured on both sides, giving light to a two-storey recreation room on the portside, and a swimming pool on the starboard side. The lower set of windows to starboard are underwater, and quite a popular spot.
While the Constitutions are well armed for self protection and power projection, Ventures are not designed to be placed in harm's way. Therefore they carry only a single phaser emplacement atop and beneath the saucer for defense. A dual-rail manual torpedo launcher is fitted, but offensive torpedo inventory is limited, the launcher being primarily used for exploratory probes.
