The Venture's Deck Six houses half the ship's crew compliment of 350 in
174 individual, single-occupancy quarters. Each one-room cabin consists of a small living area
with couch, wall screen and work desk/computer station, and a sleeping area screened from the
rest of the room by a partition. Shelves and cabinets along the back wall, and a beureau
provide storage space. Communal lavatories and shower rooms ring the inner corridor, avoiding
the complexity of plumbing individual cabins. Fresh water tanks circle the central computer
core, around which are also stored backup turboelevator cars.
"Break rooms," or small cafe lounges, are positioned around the outer ring
against the inner hull. Each cafe has several food slots, and a series of viewports to
take in the stars. The outer ring is broken at 90 degree intervals by the ship's
reaction control thrusters.
Deck Six recreational facilities include two large two-story rec rooms port
and starboard. To port is a standard starship rec room similar to those aboard Constitution
class ships but for the location. The main floor is on Deck Seven, with an encircling balcony
above on deck Six, with adjoining cafeteria. To starboard is the ship's swimming pool, with
large windows identical to those of the standard rec room, the lower bank of four windows
(located on the Deck Seven level) being under water.
Adjoining the pool on Deck Six is a sauna and changing room. The ship's
roomy, 2-level gymnasium is located in the aft quarter of Decks Six and Seven.
at the port and starboard cardinal points are standard starship docking ports.
The port features a greeting lounge for guests and ready room for EVA. The starboard is a simple
airlock for crew use.
To aft, extending from the saucer, is the impulse engineering control room,
the impulse deuterium fuel tank, and the reactor/impulse engine assembly itself.
